1. Remove the worm gear reducer assembly

Clean and deburr the parts before assembly, and check the size, geometric shape, accuracy, surface roughness, etc. according to the drawing requirements.

The mating surfaces of worm gear and shaft, bearing and shaft shall be coated with lubricating oil before being pressed in.

If the worm gear is assembled, press the worm gear ring onto the hub and fasten it.

There are two common methods to install the worm gear on the shaft: pressing assembly and heating assembly.

Install the worm gear shaft assembly into the casing, and then install the worm into the casing. Align the worm axis with the middle plane of the worm gear, and the deviation shall meet the requirements.

The assembly of bearing and shoulder, bearing and gland shall be suitable, and the rotation shall be flexible after compression.

The transmission flexibility of the assembled worm transmission mechanism shall also be checked. The required rotational torque of the worm at any position shall be basically equal.

Remove the belt cover, V-belt and pulley, remove the coupling and bolts, and lift down the motor.

Remove the bolts on both ends of the worm cover and the reducer split surface, lift the upper cover of the casing and place it on the rubber plate to prevent damage to the middle split surface, clean the upper cover, and check whether there is oil leakage at the fastening bolts.

Removing the lubrication system

Remove the worm gear locknut, use special tools to remove the worm gear, and check the engagement between the worm gear and the worm, including contact area, position, wear, etc.

Remove the oil seal, clean the case, and check the middle split surface.

2. Check worm gear and worm

If the worm gear is seriously worn, pitted or glued (adhesive tear), it can be replaced or the worm gear can be repaired and the worm can be re prepared by modifying the worm gear.

Slight gluing, pitting and some defects on the tooth surfaces of worm gear and worm can be repaired by milling, scraping and grinding after repair welding.
